Cyber Security and your Research(ers) Virtual Office Hours: Session 3 – Aug. 15, 2024

Join us for the next Cyber security and your research(ers) Office Hours session.

These monthly office hours are geared towards researchers and research-supporting staff, by (1) providing a forum for them to ask questions and gain deeper insight into safeguarding their intellectual property and research data and (2) informing them of new and existing initiatives, resources, and supports available to help secure their research.

Each session will open with a brief presentation (5 - 10 minutes) on a cyber security topic or resource relevant to the research community, followed by ample time for researchers and staff to ask questions about and/or discuss opportunities and avenues for securing their research data.

Presentation topic:

  • Password managers (1Password)
    • U of T's safe password practices recommends using a password manager to help securely generate, store and organize your passwords, passphrases and passkeys for your various accounts. Information Security has procured a limited number of 1Password Business licenses that are available to faculty members and staff.
